You! Camp Connect is a space for adult women of all ages (age 18 or older).
Camp Connect is a three night summer camp style experience for women to get away from the hustle and bustle of daily life to reconnect to themselves, others, and the world around them. We’re taking care of the travel, accommodations, the food, and the program. We’ve got so much in store for you!
Because we often give so much to those in our lives, without taking time to recharge. We want to create a space where we would feel at home, so that is what we are doing! We are aiming to build a community for women of all kinds to come together and Connect. We really hope you’ll join us!
We’re still working this out! Our location will be a summer camp, with shared cabins with some proximity to the BC Lower Mainland. As soon as we have details, we’ll let you know!
While we were hopeful we would be running a Camp in the spring of 2017, we decided it would be best to wait until 2018 to make sure we had every detail exactly the way we wanted it… so we’ll let you know when we have our 2018 dates secured!
How much does it cost?
We’re working on this, and want to make sure this is an experience which is available to anyone who wants to come. Costs will include transportation from the BC Lower Mainland, accommodations for three nights, all your meals, and an incredible program. We may even throw in some Camp Connect swag!
We want to be completely transparent about the taxes you are paying. We are required to charge Federal (GST), provincial (PST), and regional (MRDT) taxes for all or part of your registration fees. We will provide you with an itemized receipt following registration.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I register?
Once Registration goes live (don’t worry, you’ll have lots of warning), we’ll send you on to our Registration page!
What do I bring?
We’ll send you a detailed packing list before Camp Connect begins, but there are a few things you might want to start thinking about now! You’ll need a sleeping bag and pillow, or other bedding for the bunk, and a towel for washing up or if you decide to go swimming. You will also need a flashlight, as our generators will be off overnight. Of course, you’ll want to pack clothing and toilettries, and if you’re interested in yoga, bring along a mat!
What will we eat?
We are working closely with our Gold medal winning chef, Marie Nairn, to create a menu for the week which is healthy and delicious. We understand everyone has their own dietary habits and needs, so we will make sure that you have choice in your meals, and that we are able to accommodate any needs you may have. As a perk of attending Camp, Marie is going to provide you with all the recipes from the week in your very own Camp Connect cookbook! We hope this will help inspire what you create at home, and keep the memory of your time at Camp alive!
I have dietary restrictions, can you accommodate me?
Yes! Let us know in your registration form, and we’ll work with our chef to make sure you are accommodated.
Is the camp location accessible?
Since we are still working out the details, we are keeping this in mind as we choose the best location for Camp Connect. If you are concerned about accessibility for any reason, please contact us at we would be happy to discuss the options we would be able to put in place to ensure you are able to participate. As professionals with combined decades of years working in health care, including issues of accessibility, we will do all we are able to make Camp Connect an accessible place for all.
Can my daughter come with me?
If your daughter is over 18 or older, feel free to register her! Unfortunately, we cannot include any minors.
Can I come alone?
Of course! You are welcome to come on your own, or with friends. Your choice!
Are there private rooms available?
There are not. Just like summer camp of your youth, we will be in shared cabins. This is a great chance to Connect with new friends!
Is this a religious camp?
We have no affiliation with any religious group. We have rented the space for the weekend, and invite all women who wish to attend to come, regardless of religious affiliation (or lack thereof). We are a non-denominational organization, and hope you will find ways to celebrate your own faith or spirituality throughout the weekend in whatever way makes sense for you.
My question isn’t here… what should I do?
